We planned to go to Tai Chai but missed it as we had a wrong schedule. The bridge lecture was interesting as usual.
The speaker at 11:00 was the Hollywood producer again. This time he talked about his relationship and friendship with two of the most famous women in the world, the late Princess Grace of Monaco and her Rohyal Highness Diana Princess of Wales.
All were invited to the Poseidon's Revenge Ceremony to ensure safe passage over the equator. According to Greek mythology King Neptune oversees the equator. This is a tradition of honoring Poseidon in return for safe passage and smooth waters. This was done with costumes and dialog in an amusing way on the Lido deck. The sun was at it's most intense as the equator is crossed.
A wonderful evening of entertainment with Mel Mellers followed dinner. He had a unique act alive with action laughter and intrigue.

Sheri: The women here are using walkers and wheelchairs, havn't seen any in thongs.

I love the comments from Sheri and Eugene and shirley. There are many interesting things going on that there floating retirement home.
We have snow here again today...been snowing since noon and probably won't stop until midnight or early in the morning. Maybe as much as 2-4 inches expected. Not as much snow in southwest Kansas.
by the way I forgot to tell you thank you for the Christmas gifts. We listened to the promotional cd of the book and I have been reading more of it...and also the candles are nice..I like candles. Thanks again.
The k-state girls are playing now ..so will get back to it on tv.

Dear Sandra & Sherlund 1/13/08
You probably wonder why you did not get a Christmas card from me, but I'm sorry to have to report Ethel's tragic death in a car accident on Dec 1st. so things have been difficult since then. Two days prior to that I had foot surgery & had to be off my feet for a few days. As you see Christmas was a bad time for all of us. It was such a shock when I answered the door bell & saw two uniformed sheriffs at the door. I knew immediately what it was about. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital but had expired by then. She was sent to L.A. to the coronor's office. We have yet to receive the death certificates.
Ethel had made her own arrangements back in the 90's with the Neptune Society for cremation. Her request was to be buried at sea. Monday Scott, Linda & I are going to the coast in San Pedro and go out on the boat for Ethel's service & burial. The boat captain is also a minister and will conduct the service.
There are many things yet to take care of but we need the death certificates to finish up everything. Scott has been on the phone almost daily trying to get everything taken care of. Incidentally, Scott is now officially retired as of the 10th of this month & is such a help to me.
Ethel lived with me for five plus years & I really miss her. Zena does too. She comes in, walks up to Ethel's chair, look up & down it, then sadly turns & walks away.
Hope everything is well with you two & your family. Pease tell Shirley about Ethel whenever you talk to her, wherever she is. Am sure they are having a great trip. Love, Marge

Hi Sounds like you are having a blast. We are going to have to go out and get a big world map to help follow your journey. Keep Jack away from that laptop or at least block all financial web sites for the rememder of the trip and enjoy.
