Very interesting commentary on Bali. Did you know that while you were in Bali there was a earth quake in western idonesia? It briefly made the CNN lead story because it was in the same location as the 2004 quake. It turned out to be small and within an hour was on the back pages of CNN. I googled your location and the location of the quake, it was about 1000 miles west of Bali.
Basketball update: KU lost at OSU 61-60. They had the ball with 12 seconds left and couldn't score. It was an ugly game, KU committed 21 turnovers, missed 9-11 three's and shot 42% for the game. OSU Eaton hit 14-16 free throws and controlled the game. Bill Self commented that KU was playing districted, players Rodrick Stewart 21 year old brother was murdered on Wednesday and Darnell Jacksons 19 year old cousin died on Wednesday of gun shot wounds subtained earlier. I missed the whole first half and part of the second half due to CBS regional coverage. CBS only cut over to the game because Duke was beating up on St. John.
KSU also lost at BU 91? something to 86. Beasly and Walker scored 75 of KSU's 86 points.
At home, Mark finally got back to skiing last Saturday. Bryan had to sit out the indoor track sectionals meet last Sunday, as his hip was still tight. The 4x200 relay team allready had a good enough time to qualify for state qualifers meet March 1. The 4x200 relay team was very good untill Bryan and another team mate were injured. Bryan thinks they will all be ready for March 1. Only the 2 fastest teams in state qualifers move on to the state championship meet March 8 at Cornell.
The KU game was exciting..but both teams scored very little in the first half..KU only had 30 points by the half. As Brent said KState lost again too..they have lost all their away games..the girls lost to CO yesterday too. The men play Texas tomorrow night (Monday)..At home by some fluke, I hope they win..Beasly had 44 points last night and Walker had 31.
As Brent said your comment on Bali was very interesting. Especially about their religions. The Hindu religion is up to about 1 million and fast growing in America. Our speaker at church this morning gave us those facts. 1/2 of world's population is unchurched, Hindu, and other religions. We learned about the Buddist religion in Japan. I didn't know that there is so much Hunduism in Indonesia.
You were talking about all the bad traits to keep away from in order to get to heaven. Christianity is in contrast to that in that our salvation is a free gift by the grace of God..we don't have to earn our way to heaven, but just accept the gift of what Jesus did for us. But you know all that. I just wish that those people could see that they are on the wrong track.
